This artwork was inspired by my time in Acadia National Park, Maine. The reference photograph was taken on my first experience climbing and belaying outdoors. I went on an excursion with Acadia Mountain Guides Climbing School. To this day it is one of my most treasured experiences.

Allyson (A.Lynne) is an artist and designer based in South New Jersey. She has been teaching computer graphics full-time at a public high school for nine years. Teaching has provided Allyson with the ideal lifestyle to pursue an additional career as an artist and designer. It also provides an ideal schedule to pursue adventures as an outdoor athlete, from which she draws much of her inspiration. As an artist, she focuses on nature, spirituality and their combined connection to the human body. She primarily works in colored pencil on toned paper to create vibrant and sometimes surreal images. Drawing largely in plein air, she weaves together elements of her encounters with various plants, animals, and landscapes. Then she relies mainly on her train of thought to combine these elements in unexpected ways. Allyson is always in awe of the way her final artwork can be perceived to have deeper and unplanned meanings. Not intentionally, many symbols and images are recurring throughout her art.
