My Name is Steve Payne . I live in the Arizona area . Apache Junction .
Working at the easel is what an artist does . This practice is a disipline . Working sketches into a painting .
Many things do inspire me . Which in turn shows in my diverse subject matter .
I like using all the tools in my studio . Painting and Drawing are my practices . These practices I approach with experimentation . To try a new POV on an ordinary idea .
Or to see beauty in the mundane . Color spots to inspire .

1976-78 studied with noted colorist Henry Hensche . Cape School of Art . Provincetown Mass.
1977-80 awarded Artist in Residence with Nelson Shanks of Andalusia PA.
1974 - 76 Associates of Arts degree University of Arkansas Fort Smith .
Self taught from museums . Always a student .
