Vito Difilippo

In his artistic exploration, Vito Difilippo, born in Monopoli in 1988, draws inspiration from the vast stretches of the Murgia, the blue of the sea, and the immensity of the Apulian sky. These natural elements mark the beginning of a journey that spans self-taught painting, abstract expressionism, conceptual art, Arte Povera, and photography. His works express a deep bond with nature, infused with the urban aesthetics of graffiti and visual experimentation. Inspired by the lichens and molds of his native environment, Difilippo develops a distinctive pattern: a metaphor for adaptation and resilience, fused with the energy of the city. Alongside painting, street photography represents another key aspect of his research. In black and white, on Polaroid film, or through a conceptual approach, he captures fragments of urban life, seeking poetry in the ephemeral and the unexpected. An invisible thread ties together his painting and photography: a focus on hidden details, on the tension between nature and artificiality, between instinct and vision.
