Anna Mierzejewska

Growing up under the oppressive, communist system made me rebel against grayness depression, and any ideology that wants to enslave us. Liberation comes by using a bright, pure, vibrant palate of colors.
Experiencing oppression and control over a woman's sensuality made me want to allow myself to be free and paint in an expressionistic way the human body.
Believing that art is working for the sake of art expression, can be integrated with addressing social issues.
Art transforms personal, dramatic experiences into bright and brilliant forms. Art is joy, the fun of discovery. I paint ideas.
