Junglim Painting

Patricia Armbruster is a painter, costume designer and lecturer, too. In her paintings you will find abstract compositions of surface, form and perspective, but primarily color itself as the main component of her art. The painter creates the pictorial space through her specific use of color. The overlays of the paint create the impression of unfathomable depth. That which is underneath shows what defines us beneath the surface: the intangible, the unconscious. In the imagens of her corresponds an exchange between the inner and outer world that overcomes the boundaries of the body. Often, in contrast to conventional methods, she does not use brushes and instead uses spatulas and squeegees. The acrylic-color can be changed and refined over a certain period of time. This possibility opens an unplanned process of layering and mixing colors and leads to unexpected and dynamic results. Her abstract and informal style utilizing spontaneity and offers the chance to create works that are both visually striking and emotionally resonant. Her willingness to experiment with emotions while painting opens possibilities to deal with themes as of our deeper being, vulnerability, transformation and connectedness.
