DEIRDRE NICHOLLS
Sculptor and Watercolourist
Deirdre Nicholls is a Scots/Irish figurative sculptor and watercolourist. Born in Edinburgh she studied Sculpture and printmaking at Winchester School of Art in the 1970’s under William Crozier, Norman Ackroyd and Patrick Heron, An early recipient of the Northern Young Contemporaries Prize, her work is held in public collections including The University of Edinburgh and Glasgow City Chambers, and in private collections in the UK, United States and France. Recent exhibitions include the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, London (2023), the Royal Scottish Academy Annual Exhibition, Edinburgh (2024), and the Royal Ulster Academy Annual Exhibition, Belfast (2024–25). She received the Paisley Art Institute Prize for Sculpture in 2025.
