Marcela Böhm

Born 1972 in Buenos Aires, ArgentinaSince 1992 in Kln, GermanyMs. Boehm has very consequently developed her own artistic path and followed and expanded it from one work-complex to the next one. With special attention she has followed philosophical and esthetical question-complexes. The theme in her painting circles around realistic motifs with clearly identifiable figures and subjects. She designs her own picture world with literary references and allusions, and a strict iconographic composition. The stringent certain line-guidance and a very empathetic and carefully composed coloring outstandingly distinguish her work. With her south American origin, her long European stay, and an art degree in Germany, she is a downright cosmopolitan personality. She seeks with great predilection to rummage the originalities and particularities of alien cultures in order to integrate them into the conception of her pictures. A. Reichel
