In 1665, One bright sunny day, Sir Isaac Newton darkened his room and made a hole in his window shutter, allowing just one beam of sunlight to enter the room. He then took a glass prism and placed it in the sunbeam. The result was a spectacular multicoloured band of light just like a rainbow. This multicoloured band of light was called a “color spectrum”, also responsible the colours of a rainbow.
This same experiment was a part of my 1st year Engineering semester course called ‘Optics’ and it fascinated me. How the light rays dance among prisms or glass inside lenses and create a spectacular phenomena, which is base off all the modern world photographs.
And it was the first pull I have experienced towards photography. From researching Ansel Adams and his famous quote ‘Landscape photography is the supreme test of the photographer - and often the supreme disappointment’, took a challenge to hone my skills by trial and error and following famous photographers till date.
Now trying to convince world that landscapes are true serenity!
