Éric Pelleau is a French figurative painter and sculptor, born in Brest in 1959. Since opening his first studio in 1983, he has explored the many dimensions of creation through oil painting, acrylics, watercolors, as well as wood and ceramic sculpture.
His artistic universe is deeply inspired by the sea, nature, human figures, and still life, which he interprets with a distinctive sensitivity. His watercolors, often painted directly on site, capture light and the spirit of coastal landscapes, while his contemporary acrylic and oil paintings combine visual strength with subtle poetry.
Each of Éric Pelleau’s works is conceived as an encounter between emotion and material. His practice emphasizes contrasts: the delicacy of watercolor transparencies, the depth of oils, the vibrant energy of acrylics, and the raw power of sculpture.
Today, his art appeals to a wide audience, from international collectors to interior design enthusiasts. His original artworks bring character, authenticity, and refinement to modern living spaces, while remaining faithful to the richness of the French figurative painting tradition.
