Lisa is the daughter of an internationally collected wildlife and western painter and a renowned biotech director. The mix of the creative and the logical always felt like a pull of two very conflicted worlds. After over a decade as an art curator and marketing director, Lisa honed her ability to balance both the creative and strategic realms. However, her true calling led her to pursue art therapy as a form of rehabilitation, merging her artistic vision with a desire to help others. Lisa returned to school to further her qualifications, working towards her goal of using art therapy to help individuals overcome trauma and mental health challenges. She has since worked in reentry programs, supporting individuals as they transition from incarceration, and is currently serving as a clinician social worker in an inpatient treatment facility, assisting individuals in crisis to plan their path forward after stabilization. Her ongoing academic goals include one day achieving a doctorate, where she hopes to specialize in the use of art therapy for trauma recovery within institutional settings. Currently based in Washington State with her family and a pack of dogs, Lisa continues to blend her love of art, therapy, and education to assist others and promote healing through creativity.
