Martha Crow

I was born into a large family in a small town in Ohio and over the years have traveled to many places throughout the world. I currently live and work in an old house in the Fort Greene neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. I get a kick out of what can be done with oil paint in depicting the world. My aim is for my work to be timeless; I want to create both tranquility and clarity.

I have an MFA in Painting from Queens College and a BA in Studio Art from Oberlin College.

I have had a solo exhibition at the Tatistcheff Gallery on 57th Street in New York City and have shown in many group shows, including numerous Midyear Exhibitions at the Butler Institute of American Art. Other recent group exhibitions include one at Jackson Artworks in Omaha, Nebraska. My awards include an Elisabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant and an alumni award from Oberlin College.
