When a door closes– many windows fly open.
I embraced painting over thirty years ago while battling cancer at a young age. Painting became an essential vehicle, along with my poetry, to express my utter joy and appreciation for the beauty of this precious world. Each of my subjects radiates its own particular aura into the surrounding “air” of the canvas proclaiming its unique voice in the resounding choir of Hallelujah. My paintings of thanksgiving reflect a life force that I palpably feel emanates from every living being.
My painting style is predominantly impressionistic, but also includes whimsical and expressionistic works. My subjects are primarily floral and landscapes and realistic portraits, but abstracts, religious and social commentaries are also included in my collection.
Media choices include oils, acrylics, water color, ink, charcoal, and pencil, depending on the subject, the light, the setting and the mood.
As an artist, I had the priviledge of studying with Yitzchak Greenfield in Israel. While in New Jersey, I studied in Princeton, and at the Academy of Art in Highland Park with Anna Canino. I also had the good fortune of studying for many years with Dorothy Yung.
