Filippo Riniolo

Born in Milan in 1986, lives and works in Rome where he graduated in 2011 from the Academy of Fine Arts with a thesis on the Impact of financialization on the contemporary art. His research embraces very poetic themes, political, social, historical and current affairs. In his areas of interest there are the relationship between body and power, Sexual Diversity studies, gender studies, and post-colonial studies.
His research deals with the relationship of the identity of the artist with European history . Often his works uses elements of Greek and Latin culture to reread the present . His work is based on the conviction that if a European artist is not able to use the story that he carries on his shoulders , this will become a rock that will crush . Philosophy , philology , religion are elements used to understand what is happening around us with a very marked approach to new technologies .
In his research tools we find installation, performance, sound and video. But we can also find altarpieces or pieces of marble . The use of chemicals or recovery of ancient techniques are part of the innovative approach that the artist has with the story .
