I became an artist because of the profound experience of viewing the works of other artists (Symbolists, Post-Impressionists and Abstract Expressionists) . The emotions, psychology and passion conveyed through color, line, texture, composition and subject matter is a never-ending source of inspiration and experimentation for me.. I try to release the reigns from holding tightly to a final vision for a piece of art and let the work take me where it wants to go. This can be exhilarating as well as nerve-racking but I feel it lends an intensity and liveliness to the pieces that they wouldn't have otherwise.
