Since she was a child, Greetje van den Heiligenberg (1981) has been discovering the possibilities of paint, chalk and graphite. Although she chose to study industrial design, she came back to her real passion: the art of painting.
Her actual work shows her fascination for the most known image: the face.
She uses a layered basis and prefers to work on monumental sizes. By choosing colors she follows the materials used like paper, chalk, plaster and charcoal, and adds pigments or oil. This way Greetje makes intriguing and mystic portraits with a touching and timeless character.
