Hana Shannon

Hi, my name is Hana and I’m a classically trained painter from the Czech Republic specializing in portraiture.

I received my Master's degree in painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and moved to the US over a decade ago to pursue my painting career. The energy and freedom of NYC has always provided great inspiration.

My favorite show was the exhibition of my portraits in the storefront windows of Bergdorf Goodman, at the corner of 57th street and 5th avenue. I really liked the direct connection with the passerby in a "non-gallery" setting.

As an artist, my main domain has been portrait. I have always been expressing myself through painting of self-portraits or portraits of people around me. My approach is personal; I try to capture the inner side of the subject.
