Hazel Stone

The Saatchi Art motto, “Be original. Buy original.” fits me perfectly. I brand myself as an “Innovative Artist in Watermedia” because of my desire to be original and to create what no one has seen before. I only sell original art. Painting is my passion and my life path. “My art and I are one.”

Because I know that I can paint anything I can see, I often go to my imagination and feelings to unlock the next painting image. I love innovation, complexity, texture and color. I may work loosely or with great control depending on the project that is at hand. My hope is that the image will catch the viewer’s eye and touch their soul so that they will want it in their daily life.

I grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah, attended public schools, graduated from the University of Utah College of Nursing with BS and RN degrees. I taught Medical-Surgical Nursing classes for two years before starting my family. Although I had always been interested in using art materials, after the births of my two daughters, I was compelled to draw, paint, study and explore Art History. Gradually I realized that ART had become my "Life's Passion."
