Hooson began painting using watercolours in the 1990’s while living in rural Canada. A few years later, she changed to acrylics then added chalk, crayons, pastels, mono prints, stencils, collage, and plaster to her pieces.
Hooson’s style is Intuitive Non-Objective. She uses vibrant colours, varied mediums, texture, and marks in layers, to add depth and interest to her work.
Self-taught; attended many art workshops; research and studies via different media.
Community shows in western Canada; other exhibits include government buildings, libraries, health centres, and private galleries.
