Ines ŠImek

My name is Ines Šimek, I was born on 1977. in Osijek, Croatia ( Europe ) where I still live and I've been doing photography since 1998.
Over the years I sent my works to numerous photo competitions in Croatia as well as abroad. Some of these works were rewarded and some of them were accepted and included in exhibitions.
Themes of my works are various, but I'm always trying to capture moment or scene exactly how I saw and felt it. To get images I want, I use natural light because it provides variety of colors, tones and games of light and shadows which I love.
Looking through my works, on most of them, whether they are in B&W or color, I'm trying to deliver that few seconds of perfection, beauty and tranquility from what surrounds me. I leave it to the viewer to find their own personal interpretation or emotion from each work.

I have learned basics of photography from professional photographers in Osijek and after that I continued to develop my photography skills through lot of effort and learning on my own.

2001.

-one work was accepted to photo competition „Dani prirode“ („Days of nature“), Banatski Brestovac, Serbia

2011.
-with several works I was chosen for finalist at event „Hrvatski foto izazov“ („Croatian photo challenge“)
-one work was accepted to photo competition „Horseville“, Novi Sad, Serbia
-two works were accepted to photo competition „XVII izložba fotografije autora osječko-baranjske županije“ („XVII exhibition of photography by authors of osijek-baranja county“), Osijek, Croatia
-I was invited and approved for inclusion in the book „International masters of photography Vol. 1“, by publisher World Wide Art Books, Santa Barbara, California

2012.
