Jade Black

I grew up as a fine artist. I loved to draw and later I picked up painting. It's ironic because I was mostly obsessed with eyes in my drawings. I loved that I was able to create a character and allow my viewers to look into their soul. In my photographs the eyes are almost always hidden giving viewers the opportunity to tell ME who the character is.

I became bored during college with fine art and sought a new genre to express myself. I chose photography and earned my degree.

I began my journey in fashion photography but then found my true passion in fine art specializing in surreal and conceptual imagery. I've learned that creepy doesn't have to be ugly and beautiful doesn't have to be pretty and sometimes isn't. I hope you enjoy the worlds and characters I have created in each series.
