Jak Studios

After ten years in Los Angeles, CA working as a creative director and fashion designer, I recently picked back up painting during 2020. For years I was a leather accessory designer, designing under the brand name JAKIMAC. The line was sold in top retailers internationally. I still have a love for leather working and you will see leather panels and scraps form my fashion work mixed into my paintings.

I often create patchwork style large-scale works; where multiple paintings in progress are torn apart then stitched together to create a new work. The work itself is abstract, yet certain motifs seem to replicate - imagery of sound waves, poetry i've written and etched into the leather or canvas, and fast, almost erratic movement of the brush as I play with texture and language.

I'm now located in Nashville, TN, looking to establish an artistic community here. I visit Los Angeles often to exhibit work and rent studio space.
