I was born and currently live in a small town in the western part of the Czech Republic. I’ve been working primarily in oil paint since 15 years.
The current body of work consists of a conceptual collection of paintings situated towards the beautiful countryside of the Swiss canton of Ticino around Lugano and Locarno, and their surroundings. I was 20 when I visited Lugano for the first time. It was kind of an accident, because I took a "wrong" train from a crazy dance party at Zurich main station to the SOUTH (I had an InterRail ticket to everywhere, so it didn’t bother me so much anyway…).
At 1am I finally approached the Lugano station and it was like love at first sight - Mediterranean climate, presence of the Alps, mysterious villas surrounded by palm trees and lush vegetation and from somewhere well-known radiate heat in the middle of the night… At that moment I realised that I don’t have to travel anywhere else, because I found everything imaginable as inspiration for my paintings I started dreaming of.
