About Jeremy Baker

ARTIST STATEMENT
For me, seeing a painting should always be an uplifting experience and I draw inspiration from many different fields for my work. From buildings to bicycles, from people to plant life. There is beauty all around us. For me the style of painting is just as important as the subject matter and have spent many years developing my own form of impressionism that uses geometric shapes, contrast and colour to portray in a dramatic way what I see as beautiful.
Work has been sold to Collectors in the USA, Canada, Australia, France, the Netherlands and the UK

Education

I studied at Bath Academy of Art (Bath University) under the tutorship, amongst others, of Sir Michael Craig Martin, who was instrumental in my appreciation of how colours work together.
I graduated with a BA in Visual Communication.
