About John Boudreau

John's love of art began at a young age when he studied painting at a museum which lead him to become an Art Major in high school. Also, being in the Art Club he collaborated with others on a dreamesque mural. John continued to study fine art in New York City including studies with Rudolf Baranik. John currently resides in Los Angeles where he works as an artist and art instructor at a mental health wellness center. He also teaches art to older adults at a bridge housing residence. His genres include abstract and symbolic painting. His contemporary artwork is inspired from abstract art, surrealism, and the natural world. John's notes his artmaking process is meditative. His influences include the late artists Chu Teh-Chun, Hilma af Klint, Henri Matisse, and Roberto Matta. Also, John likes Ross Bleckner's paintings. He believes art has healing properties and that art brings people together. John's art gives him an opportunity to share his culture, beliefs and individuality with others in a language that is thought provoking, personal and expressive. John hopes the viewer makes a connection to the energy of the work and becomes inspired. He is a member of the Burbank Fine Art Federation in CA. John is an international award winning artist whose artworks have been published. John's artwork is in private and public collections. Commissions are also accepted.
