My fascination with textures, re-creating structures and exploring alternative methods of working with materials has led me in various experimental directions.
Some of my recent work has involved extracting and fixing natural colours from plant matter, through a steam process onto watercolour paper. Colours were further manipulated through reactions with metals as well as 'marks' from mould, electrical charges, temperature change or even the presence of bacteria.
I do spend a lot of my time carefully planning for the unknown, and it is the unknown factor that really excites me.
I studied Botanical Art and then Graphic Design at Saint Martin's School of Art, London.
