Jonas Peres is a Spanish visual artist based in Madrid, Spain, trained at the California Institute of the Arts, Los Angeles, with advanced studies in Modern Art at the Museum of Modern Art, MoMA, New York.
His work explores how color can transform mood, how light can shape perception, and how presence can open a space for inner richness in contemporary life. Through luminous chromatic fields, subtle horizons and immersive atmospheres, Peres creates visual experiences that invite both emotional resonance and contemplation.
From his earliest works, Peres has been fascinated by the emotional power of color and its ability to influence atmosphere, perception and experience. Rooted in art history and informed by his studies in History and Divinity at Yale University, he began to question how the divine might be reimagined within contemporary visual culture. In subtle dialogue with the spiritual intensity of Mark Rothko and the cultural immediacy of Andy Warhol, he has developed a visual language that bridges color, light and presence.
