Jonathan Conklin

Before becoming a photographer, I worked in the restaurant business as a chef. My career working in kitchens started back in 1992 when I joined the Navy. I spent two years as a cook and baker, getting up at 4 am to bake bread for 200 sailors. After I left the Navy, I spent the next ten years of my career working in the kitchens, which ended as a chef in NYC. I quit cooking professionally after borrowing a friend’s camera to explore photography. What started out as a hobby, quickly became a passion of mine, and ultimately developed into a new career.

I’ve spent the last ten years as a photographer in New York City, photographing for thousands of clients across a wide variety of industries, including acting, modeling, business, fashion, food, fitness, sports and events. In May of 2015, my wife and I decided to relocate to Minneapolis for a better quality of life. We love the friendly vibe of the city and all that it has to offer. I’ve opened a spacious studio with lots of natural light in the heart of downtown.
