About Andrea Kobayashi
**********ON VACATION ********MARCH 23rd - APRIL 8th**** I have lived in Japan for 14 years, and I have adapted my studio work to use mostly locally produced materials. I work on Japanese paper (washi) with Japanese watercolour (gansai tambi). I use washi from Higashi-Chichibu and Ogawamachi in Saitama prefecture. After the earthquake in 2011, conventional landscape perspective lost meaning for me and my work has become increasingly abstracted or non-representational.
