Aleksandr Rekunenko

Aleksandr Ivanovich Rekunenko was born in 1955. The works of painter Rekunenko A.I. can be referred to as mystical propensities based on depicting of the observed in the altered state of consciousness. Russian line of this kind of the arts originates from the following painters: Theophanes the Greek, Andrei Rublev. Afterwards, the tradition was in evidence as late as in the 19th century in the artwork of Mikhail Vrubel, and even later in the 20th century in the artwork of Nicholas Roerich. Rekunenko A.I. identifies himself as an esoteric painter. It is this particular “spiritual study” that lies at the core of his creative work and equips the painter with a specific tool kit in cognition. When investigating spiritual grounds of mystical and religious-philosophical doctrine, the painter not only forms bridges with the Unknown but like Prometheus bring to us via his works-messages the Godly sparks of Truth.
