Luiz Carlos Marques Carrera

Luiz Carlos Carrera is born in São Paulo, Brazil in 1959. After his doctorate in engineering in France, he worked for many years as a full time Professor at importante technological universities . He currently works in his Art Studio as an illustrator for writers in Brazil, Spain and Mexico, as well as designing the covers of several published books and digital painter, participating in several exhibitions in Brazil and abroad.
Self-taught artist dedicate for may years to digital art that combining high-resolution photography with illustration and digital manipulation. From the peculiar and original integration of several techniques present in the most advanced softwares in generation and post treatment of images, his creative method transforms the simplest and most ordinary photographs into abstract and expressionist art with its own style replete with symbolism.
Recentely he is dedicated to creation of paintigs using Artificial Intelligence (IA), which is becoming one of the most important and promising trends in computational generative imaging.

In 1993 he graduated PhD in Materials Engineering for Photolithography from the University of Montpellier in France.
He has been a University Professor for many years and works as a Planning Analyst of Federal Govenement Statistics Bureau - IBGE
