Born in Havana, the Cuba that Hemingway wrote about and nostalgic, sensitive people pretend still exists.
Due to the revolution my adolescence was interrupted and we began again in New England. I met the love of my life on the beach in Cape Cod and supported my young family with a fast career that took me around the world.
Perhaps it’s the contrast of my primary locales that lead me to paint in three distinct styles that I simply call shapes, strokes, and real - surrealistic.

For many years, to my detriment, I suppressed creative urges reasoning business and ultimately money was the priority. I quelled my unrest in extreme athletic pursuits, yoga and the bottle.

Retired, I started thinking more about my mother a talented painter who though prolific in her output of art never exhibited, putting her role as a mother, wife & grandmother before her artistic passion. Such introspection has led me to the paintbrush, my antidote for a quieter mind.

Critics appreciate the raw unfettered elements of my paintings which are symbolic of life expierences. I am inspired by memories, ideologies, current events and whatever else gets lodged into into my dreamscape. The paintings are always rich in color and often multi-layered ...
