Lolly Jones Miller

My name is Lolly Miller and I am an artist...was born an artist. I have spent my entire life enveloped in color....light, and form. I see art in all of life. I have practiced in the arts for as long as I can remember. I am very diverse as I use textiles, canvas, clay, food, wood, wire...you name it...I will tweak it into art. I can't help it. My earliest memory in the expression of artwas an enormous mural on the side of my parents house...in crayon. I thought it was genius...but my parents were not as impressed. It was also my earliest experience at art editing. oh well....as we all well know...the can't all be masterpieces. My life is about color, shape, form, nature, sound, love, and emotion. I am so very happy to be here on any given day. All of life is a beautiful thing for me.

I have A LOT of education...none of it in the arts exactly. I have a BA, MA and teaching Credential from Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, California. I have a PhD from Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California. I suppose that the creation of curriculum and the education of children is a lovely art form...so in that respect it does apply to the arts. I also am a avid reader and love to study the style and work of many artists as well as read classic an contemporary literature.

My first event was at the Leisure World Art League Juried Event...where I took first place for a large, multi-colored, crawling glaze bowl. I have been going through several long rounds of chemo therapy over the last 15 years...was even in a coma for a while. I am just saying so that the lack of experience with shows and such are explained. I am starting here at Saatchi Art as a way to bravely move forward. I am ready to try my hand at public display now.
