Margaret Graham

Born and raised in Scotland, Margaret's career allowed her the opportunity to examine eminent, and not so eminent museums and galleries across the globe. The experience not only developed her understanding and appreciation of art, but stirred a desire to develop further her artistic skills.

Like Californian artist Hyatt Moore, Gauguin is my main inspiration. I was first introduced to Gaughin in the 1960s and 1970s when my elder sister was teaching herself portraiture skills. I discovered recently that one of her most loved paintings was actually painted by Hyatt Moore. Moving forward we both began studying art more seriously attending workshops, summer school and university accredited courses. Sadly, after contracting acute leukemia my sister passed away in October 2019.

Gauguin's simple philosophy of "I shut my eyes in order to see" is my guiding light. I enjoy experimenting with different media and interacting with other artists.
