Maija Jespersen

Maija is a lifelong artist who only uses top quality, archival materials. Her education includes the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia.

Horses are a favorite subject, and Maija combines rigorous attention to anatomy with a sense of color and markiness that could be called impressionist, or sometimes even expressionist, depending on the work. Careful study underlies all of her work, no matter how free-looking the final product may seem.

Currently, Maija is living in Aotearoa New Zealand, doing a PhD in peace and conflict studies.
