About Meghan Kim

Meghan Kim graduated with M.F.A degree from the University of Calgary and B.F.A. from the University of Alberta. She was a recipient of Tim Mara Graduate Student Exchange Programme at Royal College of Art in London, UK in 2012. MFA Thesis "Andante: The Spirit of Prairies" was published in the University of Calgary in 2013. She had several solo exhibitions in Canada and South Korea, and participated in several group exhibitions in Canada, South Korea and the U.S.A.
Her paintings focus on the inventing of the imaginary landscape in connection with the colour and emotions, questioning the optical limitation that stimulates our notion of thinking beyond the boundary. The colour field in her current works allude to the atmospheric abstract landscape in relation to personal feelings, contemplation and imagination through the visual interest in simple colour and gradation.
Recently, Meghan also explores with digital media, 2D digital drawing.
Her works are privately owned in Canada, UK, USA and South Korea. Meghan currently lives and practices in Calgary, Canada.
