Before graduating from Central Saint Martins in 2014 I worked with Dan Colen as an artist in his New York studio. Selected for the Clyde & Co. Art Award and shortlisted for the UAL Collection.
My current practice explores the interchange of digital media and painting. By displacing the ‘selfie’ from its social forums I am able to emphasize the specific tone, expression and silhouette that now informs its global identity. The universality juxtaposes the direct relationship with personalised technologies. Paintings are reprinted onto the LED papers found behind screens, this suggests the type of virtual memory that haunts the device, through which I am able to comment on a wider public memory.
