I was an art director and book designer with Random House. Since leaving publishing, I have focused on painting and collages. My design work used photographs, maps and manipulation of type, which still inform my collages. I use acrylic paints to build a textured surface with layers of color. I love finding graphic elements that enrich the canvas--sometimes themes emerge and evolve that differ from my early expectations.
My “pure” paintings (without collage) are often abstract, fantasy landscapes inspired by photos of aerial views.
My work has been exhibited in galleries in New York. It is in private collections in the New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, Vermont, California and Singapore.

After art studies at Hunter College and the School of Visual Arts – with Robert Motherwell, Richard Lippold and William Baziotes, among others – I went on to spend 20 years as a book designer and art director at Random House. My work there put me in contact with some of the best photography, typography, illustration and graphic design produced in America and Europe.
