Nicolas Gregoire

Textures in nature is my main inspiration: moss and lichens growing on rocks, the formation of tree bark, the soft textures and nuanced colours of molds. My work pays no attention to shape or space. I concentrate solely on texture and colour, which I create with epoxy pastes or resins and acrylic paint.

My artwork is made to be decorative, but also to be touched. Working with rigid panels and tough varnishes enables my audience to enjoy artwork through their tactile perception.

In 2000, I completed a vocational training course in the use of composite materials, where I developed my knowledge and skillset in using resins, and different composites. My training has allowed me to use a broader spectrum of textures I use in my works.
