Olga (Olha) Retunska, 39 years old, was born and raised in Kerch, Crimea. I studied at the Lyceum of Arts, then received secondary vocational education in the specialty "Artist of design works", and later graduated from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts with a degree in "Industrial designer and teacher". During her student years, I fell in love with the watercolor technique. "The artist is ripe in the skin of a designer" - this is how I describe my career. At first, watercolor painting was modestly present in my life as a pleasant entertainment hobby after my main work: designing furniture, interior and graphic products. Over time, watercolor took one of the most important places in my life and work. For the last couple of years, I have been exclusively engaged in painting and teaching.
Most of my works are portraits. There are especially many portraits of children. I consider a portrait to be the simplest, most honest, and for me also the most pleasant way to express to a person my sincere interest in him, admiration and love. But the plots of my watercolor art are not limited to portraits alone. Landscapes, flowers, and daylife sketches occupy an important place in my works.
