Christian Paraschiv
Born in Bucharest, Romania, December 24th, 1953.
Christian Paraschiv became known in the 1980s as a voice of the generation that radically transformed Romanian experimental art by following international postmodernist esthetics. Paraschiv created radical, innovative works using his own body and DNA in installations, paintings, sculptures, multimedia projects and artist’s books. His artistic practice was forbidden by Ceausescu’s dictatorship, and as a consequence the artist left Romania in 1986 and settled in Paris, where he is represented by the Galerie A l’Enseigne des Oudin gallery of contemporary art.
