About Archie Zan

The Art of Archie conceptualized as a response to how to be an artist in a World changed by the pandemic. My art viscerally explores emotions shaped by the changes around me. I deconstruct the human form within a classical composition and then gesturally, using a contemporary narrative, re-construct it into an expressive abstracted portrait. My biggest influences are my father, the Old Masters and 20st century artists like Mušič and Bacon. I suppose you could call my style “abstract de-constructivism” but I am quite happy being without a label as long as I am memorable.
