Patti Walsh

I was born in Newark, New Jersey, and we moved to a Detroit, Michigan suburb in 1971 when I was 12 (ok do the math....) I was a rebellious as hell teenager and hung out with wild people. It shows up in my work maybe, I don't know, all those experiences and the stuff that's perhaps jammed up in my head.

It's been nice to discover that I have this inside me and it's just dying to get out. Gotta Let That Hen Out as Robyn Hitchcock used to say.

I am the development director for The Cedar Cultural Center, a nonprofit music venue in Minneapolis. My spouse and I live in south Minneapolis with two insane dogs.

My art is pretty emotional and it often evokes strong feelings from most observers.

I am mainly self-taught save for some lessons with Mpls local artists Kat Corrigan and Donna Bruni, who I study with annually for a week up on Minnesota's North Shore of Lake Superior at the Grand Marais Art Colony.
