About Charles Stuart

Like a bird on a wire... I have tried in my way to be free.

My work is imagined rather than observed. It is expressive and colourful. I create new images that speak with the past but are not recreations. At the age of fifteen I had no other way in mind. I looked at Modern Paintings and decided "this is for me!" it is painting rather than "Art" that interests me. it's all about pictures, colour, texture, mark making.. gesture, surface.
