Hi! My name is Piotr Janusz, also known as Bohomazky, and I'm an amateur artist born and living in Warsaw, Poland. Coming from an artistic family, I came across the art of photography, painting and sculpture in very early childhood. I like to think of myself as an amateur because the original meaning of the word was "a lover of", which I think perfectly defines my attitude towards art. The "amateur" was considered to be the ideal balance between pure intent, open mind and the interest or passion for a subject, which describes my approach to everything that I create. I am self-taught and I have never graduated from a school in any way related to fine arts, by which I also refer to myself as a dilettante. But it doesn't bother me in any way, and I even like it because I've never been interested in achieving perfection in anything I do. The only thing that interests me is the pure satisfaction that comes from creating and expressing all the ideas that gather in me. And it's hard for me to clearly define my inspirations. In addition to movements such as naive art, street art, brutalism and neoexpressionism, I can draw inspiration from very different and often contradictory things. It can be both a black and white film by Yasujiro Ozu and an early Sonic Youth album. It can be the tree I saw a month ago, the shape of the cloud, the text of the hip-hop song, the movement of a woman I passed by on the street, the book by William Burroughs or the face of the cashier in the local store. Literally e v e r y t h i n g. But to be honest I don't know how to talk about myself and my art, so I don't know if this text makes any sense. I just want to live art, breathe art and hope that all I create will be able to speak for itself.
Self-taught.
