Collage # 10 ( Mr. and Mrs. Married in 1902) Print

This collage is part of an on-going series. It is made up of pasted found papers, part of a 1902 Italian church marriage registry handwritten document, and a photo reproduction of a painting, entitled ''Personages in Front of the Playbill of 'La Gamme d'Amour' '' (1928-1929), by Belgian artist James Ensor. The minimalist juxtaposition of the various pasted papers aims to convey on the one hand a sense of dignified nostalgia and on the other some colourful humour. The particular imagery conveyed by this Collage is bound to attract the curious attention of the Viewer. And once appropriately Matted and/or simply Framed by the Buyer, it will be suitable to hang anywhere, either by itself or among other artworks. The artwork itself is 12x9 inches (30.5cm x 22.9cm). Included is a white Mat and Backboard (16x12 inches---40.5cm x 30.5cm) which can easily be removed and/or replaced according to the Buyer's personal taste when ready to be framed.
