About The Artwork

Using gel medium and some handmade papers I used tissue and paints to form layers as these layers build they feel more fabric like. I then wanted to mix my watercolors on paper add texture with pumice and charcoal forming the lower part of the piece.A large felt square formed a base on the upper body of paper layer where I explored found objects and embellished the work also added inks.Making a contemporary figure in motion among the creative background, Express Yourself was born and it won an award in it's first juried show as well as an art story written by author Judy Cullen
