'How are you going to save me?' represents the bond between a child with an undiagnosed disability, experience of neglect and trauma with their beloved dog.
The Dog series started by following my subconscious as I felt compelled to paint dogs and would cry without knowing why. Some months later having painted several of these paintings, driving to a Mental Health conference (as a guest speaker) I witnessed an animal hit by a car. It triggered a childhood memory where my beloved dog had the same fate. I was 10. Devastated by the loss I would pray to 'God' to end my life.
I knew I wanted to die as a child but it wasn't until this experience I remembered why.
