Inspired by the 1928, Georges Bataille, novella, Story of the Eye. This work celebrates the shapes and forms of the eye, the egg, animals and organisms that provide a ripely decadent, sexual and sensual backdrop to the book. This is a digital print of an original mixed media collage and drawing.

I use collage techniques to create layers and planes of texture, pattern and colour in my work. I like to make 3-dimensional pieces that quietly confound the viewers expectations using false planes, lines and unexpected juxtapositions. My work is a mixture of the abstract, geometric and typographic applied onto made objects. In my drawing work I'm fascinated by the hybrids of people, animals and symbols that are often found in classical mythology as well as tribal and religious artefacts.
