ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This piece is about being a warrior, living in the city walking through the chaos. I hope the viewers will see movement within the face, as if Its fragments of the past and future, ingrained in its character face, like a warrior standing strong in the force. I use torn up and wall paper and acrylic paint, I love using the the patterns on the wall paper to create the image taking advantage of the colors and shapes then painting on top to build up texture movement and depth.

Anna was brought up in rural Wales until her early 20's, then moved to London to do her foundation year. After moving to Brighton to do her degree, she embraced the seaside city as her new home and set up studio on the seafront. Here she developed her technique and love for collage. Using old fabric and wallpaper books, she created a language which filled her desire for colour, texture, shape, and form. Using the patterns on fabric and paper she built her own narrative celebrating the diversity of these materials. The main subjects are nature and the human face, "Using fabric and paper instead of paint brings me a whole new spectrum of diversity. I love the way the light catches different materials (especially silk and velvet) giving a tactile feeling and an unusual depth to my pieces."
