ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Icon style painting of Jesus Christ, holding Holy Bible in one hand. Instead of the Greek/ Hebrew/ Latin inscriptions usually seen on the icons, here we have provided Aramaic inscriptions. Inscription on the top is the Aramaic symbol "yah", short form for "Yahweh", God. Inscription on the left and right are the Aramaic letters, "Alap" and "Taw" corresponding to the Greek letters "Alpha" and "Omega", symbolizing Jesus Christ as the Beginning and the End! Aramaic being the language spoken by Jesus Christ, he should have said the popular phrase "I am alpha and omega" in Aramaic - "I am Alap and Taw". Alap is the first letter and Taw is the last letter of the Aramaic alphabets. In that sense, this is a unique and fresh creation with a great backing of traditions, which makes it a better entry to your prayer room.
